Catching Up

Kathryn is growing up. She used to be this little baby, contented to sit and watch the world go by. Now she gives everything she has in an effort to be a part of that world. We hear her babblings, screeches, and cries of frustration when her toys don't do what she required of them. Miss Kathryn is a very opinionated young lady. She has experienced the tastes of ice cream, bing cherry juice, orange juice, and as a very regular part of her diet, prune juice. She is exploring the delights of pulling the lace table runner towards herself so she can play with the salt and pepper holder, the wonderful crackling sounds a bread bag makes when you crunch it up. Her throwing arm is also getting its exercise.

That Old-Lady-House I mentioned in an earlier post is to become our new home this spring. Apparently moving three times is the equivalent of a house fire in terms of how much stuff you get rid of. I suppose my 'house' is about burned down then. The new place does have a basement, so that means I will have a cold pantry for my canning. It also means that I will probably have a a huge walk-in garbage bin. :(

The delights of winter are almost past. At least according to Accuweather, next week is supposed to be the last week of really cold. That makes my heart very happy. I thought about starting plants this year again instead of going to the greenhouse, but I tried that last year, and it really didn't work. Somehow it seems to work best when you are a woman with grown children. I'm not sure why, but isn't that when you magically know everything and how it works?
